Caution
If you agree with one or more of the following statements:
I want to spend as little time as possible to get this done.
My dog needs to behave because I say so.
I have poor or no internet access.
I want to purchase a package for someone else.
Hold up a minute:
- Training takes time. Good quality training is like the tortoise and the hare. Being careful and methodical is the way to win the race. I don't promise speedy results because we want lasting results. The time it takes is dependent on your starting point, your goals, and the resources (time, money, energy) you are willing and able to put in.
- We all behave the way we do for a reason. My positive reinforcement training philosophy means you will need to offer consequences the dog really wants. This begins with a lot of treats, and moves on to real life fun. From the beginning we will be working on building a relationship where your dog trusts you won't punish them if they make a mistake. Instead, we'll step back and do a better job of explaining.
- The internet is both a blessing and a curse. I have adapted my training to include the beneficial side. Meeting virtually saves me time and you money by eliminating some travel. Sharing documents and video links gives you immediate access to helpful materials. Note- if you have internet at work or somewhere else where you can take part in virtual meetings, print handouts and watch videos, we can make that work.
- Helping a friend or loved one by purchasing them a training package is a wonderful and kind thing to do. I have had some successes, and some complete no shows. The beneficiary of your gift needs to really want this in order to put in the time and effort for success. If you think they need help, but they don't, you'll be wasting your money (sorry, no refunds). If they really want to sign up with me but are financially limited or you just want to gift some training, then go back to the green light area and double check those questions for the recipient.
If you have serious issues, thank you for reaching out for help. Serious means different things to different people. I love a behavioral challenge but there are some situations that require specialists.
I am happy to work with families who have dogs that are growling or snapping. But if you have severe aggression issues, such as level 3b bite or higher on the Dunbar scale, you should work with a veterinary behaviorist and/or someone who specializes in aggression issues. I highly recommend the knowledge and compassion of Mike Shikashio: https://aggressivedog.com/
I have helped several people whose dogs fret and worry if left alone, but if your dog has serious separation anxiety, such as immediate destructive behavior or loss of bladder/bowel control if you leave them, this also warrants a specialist. I recommend one of Marlena DeMartini's grads: https://malenademartini.com/
Please note that this is a one-time offer. I set aside this time for you and if you do not call, then I'm afraid I cannot reschedule this free opportunity.
We are ever so grateful to you. I am amazed at how much they and I have grown and have such a wonderful trusting and loving relationship, and it is truly thanks to your work with us!!
